CARDIFF,
September 6, 2008 — Coopers Field, the venue for Cardiff Gay Pride, was,
like most of South Wales, awash with water yesterday when the event was
cancelled.
But this
did not stop the organisers from making sure that something went on in the
Welsh capital.
Working
with the City Council and the police, organisers got together with the gay
venue Pulse who had an evening street party planned.
The
result was an expanded street party in Churchill Way that started at
lunchtime and was due to go on into the wee small hours.
Many of
the acts due to appear at Coopers Field switched to a temporary stage in the
city centre street.
