BELGRADE, January 7, 2009  –  Celebrities, human rights and gay rights activists have joined forces for the 2009 Queeria calendar – the title this year is “Dreams”.

And the message: cooperation among people and realization of their own dreams through overcoming boundaries and borders.

Photos for the calendar were taken in Belgrade (Serbia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Zagreb (Croatia) – the models being public figures, queer activists and friends of Queeria.

Among the models are actress Lena Bogdanović, DJ Marko Nastić, director and TV personality Maja Uzelac. The artist Milica Tomić, designer Aleksandar Maćašev, Croatian singer Ida Prester, gay activist Gordan Bosanac who is also from Croatia.  In addition, gay activists from the Bosnian LGBT group “Q” are also featured.

The calendar is a project of the Queeria Center, which has the goal to create wide public support for the gay community in Serbia.  And the concept is to bring together celebrities and human and gay rights activists in promoting gay culture.

Assistance for the calendar has been given by Norveška narodna pomoć (Norwegian People’s Aid)
