“This is Big Brother … Would Nadia please come to Manchester Pride...”

Operation Fundraiser is proud and delighted to announce that Big Brother winner Nadia has chosen Manchester Pride 2004 as her first major public appearance in the North West since leaving the Big Brother house.

“If any one person represents the true spirit of Pride it is Nadia Almada". said a spokesperson for Operation Fundraiser.  The 27 year old Portuguese siren has triumphed over adversity by winning the nation’s hearts. Only two weeks ago, 3 million viewers voted for Nadia to win series 5 of the hit reality TV show Big Brother – and Nadia got a whopping 75% of the votes.”

The whole nation has taken Nadia to its hearts – gay and straight alike. The LGBT community understands only too well the struggles that Nadia has been through to become the woman that she is today.

“Now is your once in a lifetime opportunity to give Nadia a big Manchester Pride welcome,” a spokesperson for Manchester Pride organisers said.  She will be hosting the Main Stage throughout the festival, plus many other personal appearances in the Village over The Big Weekend.

From Friday (August 20), Daily Out – the Lesbian & Gay Foundation’s information newsletter – will be available every evening throughout venues in Manchester’s lesbian and gay Village with up-to-the-minute news from the festival.  It will also be available to download from the LGF website - www.lgf.org.uk, or it can be sent as a small PDF by sending your email address to: editor (at) outnorthwest.com.

For a chance to meet Nadia over Manchester Pride’s Big Weekend (27th - 30th August), make sure you buy your ticket today! Tickets cost £10 and are available from: Ticketmaster (0871 2302624), www.operationfundraiser.com, all Clone Zone stores nationwide, selected Virgin Megastores and selected venues in Manchester’s lesbian and gay Village. All funds raised (after costs) are distributed directly to local HIV and LGBT organisations by Operation Fundraiser.
