LONDON, September. 5   –  Five years after the success of the very first Kings Cross Steelers Rugby Club calendar, the team is back with a tenth anniversary calendar – and it’s bigger and better than ever.

Top London photographer Natasha Ethrington worked with volunteers earlier this year to take a series of stunning black and white shots celebrating rugby and the men that play rugby.  Sexy and provocative, the team hope the calendar will raise funds for the Bingham Cup 2006 tournament in New York, as well as generally raising the profile of the Steelers in their anniversary year.

“There is a huge choice in calendars nowadays and we wanted something that stood out, so we did the simple things well, an excellent photographer, innovative shots and a look that appealed to both men and women, gay or straight,” said Dan Simpson, one of the team behind the calendar.

“We’re really proud of the results and we hope that the high production values, plus the fact it’s for a good cause, will mean the calendars sell really well.”

Calendars can be ordered direct from the club’s website for £10 plus postage and packing. However, the Steelers will also be selling (and signing!) the very first copies at their fundraiser on the September 10 at BJ’s White Swan, 556 Commercial Road, London E14 7JD – nearest station Limehouse, Docklands Light Railway (Map)

Kings Cross Steelers, which was founded in 1995, was the world's first rugby club specifically aimed at gay men.  The club welcomes players regardless of sexuality.
