Decision. Stonewall has expressed its disappointment over this
week’s High Court ruling on the new Employment Equality Regulations relating
to sexual orientation in employment.

The Maine
Legislature took a step toward equality Tuesday by passing a domestic
partnership registry bill.

London Fundraiser for Rugby's Bingham Cup. The Shadow Lounge in London’s
Soho is the latest gay nite spot to stage a fundraiser for the Bingham Cup,
the world’s largest rugby union tournament for gay, bisexual and lesbian
players.

Craków's Gay Festival Still Needs Support, Despite Agreement From University
Rector.
Next month’s
gay ‘Culture for Tolerance’ festival in Craków, Poland, received a boost
yesterday when the Rector of the city’s Jagiellonian University
agreed that all lectures and student meetings that form part of the festival
and scheduled to be held at the university can go ahead.

Blasts School Officials for Illegally Censoring Gay Student.
The American Civil Liberties Union has come to
the aid of a gay student at James Baxter Hunt, Jr. High School in Wilson,
North Carolina, criticizing the school for removing two posters promoting
his campaign for student body president and demanding that it take steps to
remedy its illegal censorship.

Dutch MP Calls for
Closure of Anti-Gay & Anti-Women Mosque in Amsterdam. The Dutch
Parliament will be addressing the difficult question of whether or not to
close down an Amsterdam mosque that openly sells books that advocate the
killing of gays, female circumcision and the beating of wives.

Gays Make Best Tenants, Major New Property Survey Finds. A
major new
survey carried out by Outlet Accommodation Agency has found that a
surprising sixty-seven percent of landlords would rather have gay and
lesbian tenants in their properties, believing them to be more ‘easy-going,
clean and open-minded’ than their heterosexual counterparts.

Polish LGBT Group in Craków Seeks Euro Help To End Discrimination.
With only days to go
before Poland joins the European Union, the Campaign Against Homophobia in
Craków (KPH) is calling on Europeans and the EU to press the Polish
Government to end discrimination.

Partnership Bill Passes Lords Second Reading Unopposed.
The Civil
Partnerships Bill went through its “second reading” in the House of Lords
yesterday. And after three hours of debate, the Bill was sent to the “grand
committee” stage without opposition.

In New Poll, by Andy Harley. A national
poll conducted by Harvard University’s Institute of Politics (IOP) shows
that Democrat John F. Kerry holds a 10-point lead over President George W.
Bush among university students in America.

to 2005. The United Nations
Commission on Human Rights decided this morning (Thursday) to postpone the
Brazilian resolution on “sexual orientation and human rights” – first of its
kind – to the next Human Rights session, the 61st, in 2005.

Passes Tough "Anti-Gay" Bill.
Parliament
in the semi-autonomous state of Zanzibar – part of Tanzania – has passed a
new law that can result in up to 25 years imprisonment for gays and
lesbians.

Stonewall Democrats are set to mobilize thousands in a bid to elect Senator
John Kerry as President of the United States in November.

Billie Jean Kings Becomes Ambassador of Gay Games.
Tennis legend Billie Jean King, celebrated as one of the most important
American women of the 20th Century, has become an official Ambassador of the
Federation of Gay Games.

Human
Rights of Lesbians and Gays Raised at UN Meeting in Geneva.
The
“Brazilian Resolution” might have been formally withdrawn from the United
Nations Commission on Human Rights meeting in Geneva, but the subject of
human rights violations experienced by lesbians, gay men, bisexual women and
men, and transgender persons has been raised at the month-long meeting.
