Gay and
Lesbian Humanists Condemn Plans to Allow Anti-Gay Indoctrination in Schools.
The Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA) has asked the Government to
abandon its plans in the Equalities Bill published on Monday to allow
schools to include denunciation of homosexuality as part of their sex and
moral education programmes.

Gay Couples
With Foreign Marriages, Partnerships Win Recognition Battle in France.
Approval was given in the early hours of this morning by the National
Assembly of the measure to have foreign legal same-sex
marriages/unions/partnerships recognised in France as PACS.

Outrage as Tories Ditch Proposals to Support Young Homeless Gays in Brighton.
The controlling Conservative group on Brighton and Hove Council has again
voted against inviting the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT) to work in Brighton
and Hove. It is the third time in two months that they have blocked the
go-ahead.

Belarusian
Opposition Does Not Want Visible Gays at its Chernobyl Remembrance March.
Gay activists in Belarus have been told they are not wanted in the annual
march for the remembrance of the Chernobyl disaster. The march is due to
take place today in Minsk.
Apr 25: UK:
Over 100
Protest Outside ‘Cure Gays’ London Conference. Over 100 people
were outside the Emmanuel Centre in London this afternoon to protest the
“cure gays” conference organised by Anglican Mainstream and CARE and held in
the building. Among the many who were angry that ‘gay cure’ therapy
was still been practiced in the UK by a small minority of therapists was
singer Jimmy Sommerville.

Here I am, sitting on a train heading south to London for
a protest. So why is a gay fifty-something travelling a couple of hundred
miles to do the demo thing? Something more appropriate for the youngsters,
perhaps?

Coalition of Gay and Straight People to Protest Outside
Anti-Gay Religious Conference. A coalition of protesters in
support of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans (LGBT) community will gather
tomorrow afternoon at 1pm outside a London conference promoting so-called
“aversion therapy” for gay people.

Birmingham Gay Pride Style With Toni & Guy.
The city’s annual
Pride next month will be a cut above the rest after linking up with staff
from a hair salon, Toni & Guy.

Lesbian Humanists Condemn Religious Anti-Gay ‘Brainwashing’ Campaign.
Plans by the Anglican Mainstream organisation to
hold a two-day anti-gay “Sex and the City” conference at a “secret location”
in London
this coming weekend (April 24 and 25) were today
condemned by the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association.

Fund for LGBT MPs Hits £2,000 Target as Party Pushes for More Diverse
Commons. ‘Dorothy's List', a campaign fund to support LGBT Labour
parliamentary candidates, has met its general election target of £2,000.
Apr 20: USA:
People Living With HIV Still Refused Entry to USA, Warns UK Gay Health Group.
Gay men living with HIV remain banned from travelling to the USA unless they
have specifically applied for a visa to do so, HIV and sexual health charity
Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) warned today.
Apr 17: Iraq:
IGLHRC Asks
the Iraqi Government to Protect Gay People. The International Gay
and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) has sent a letter to the Iraqi
Minister of Human Rights, Wijdan Salim, requesting that she takes specific
measures to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Iraqis and
prevent hate crimes against those perceived to be gay.

Therapists Who Claim to Cure Gays Headed for London. American
therapists who claim they can “cure gays” are heading to London for a “Sex
and the City: Redeeming Sex Today – A Judaeo-Christian Conference for All”
next weekend. Heading the list of speakers is Dr. Joseph Nicolosi,
Ph.D, a licensed psychologist and founder of the Thomas Aquinas
Psychological Clinic in Encino, California.

Abusive Lesbian Relationships Deterred from Seeking Help, Research Finds.
Fear of having to reveal their sexual orientation deters some women who are
abused in lesbian relationships from seeking help, new research shows.
Apr 16: Poland:
The
Politician and the Gay Jumbo. It is not often that a member of the
Poznan City Council can get reported in newspapers across the world – and
amuse the gay community. But that is what happened last week to Michal
Grzes, a member of the Polish Law and Justice Party (PIS) following an
anti-gay outburst. Mr. Grzes had uncovered an elephantine problem –
and was not amused.

Member of
Iraqi Gay Group Pleads for Help “Before It’s Too Late”.
Is there anyone to help me before it’s too late?
That is the question asked by a member of Iraqi-LGBT in Baghdad, who says he
is to be executed, in a letter released at the weekend by Iraqi-LGBT in
London.
