August 30: The Commonwealth:
Tatchell Bids To Have Gay Lesbian Transgender Rights on Commonwealth Agenda.   The Commonwealth association of nations is being urged to discuss the decriminalisation of homosexuality and other LGBT human rights issues at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which is being held in Perth, Australia, from 28 to 30 October this year.

August 29: Serbia:
Serbian Authorities Urged to Ensure the Necessary Protection, Support of Belgrade Gay Pride.   With prominent Serbian politicians questioning whether the police should protect October’s Belgrade Gay Pride, the International Lesbian and Gay Association – Europe (ILGA-Europe) has today called on the Serbian authorities to provide the necessary protection and support for the event.

August 27: USA:
Top US Gay NGO President Joe Solmonese to Step Down in Early 2012..   Joe Solmonese, the president of Human Rights Campaign (HRC) that he will not renew his contract and will be leaving the NGO at the end of March next year, HRC announced this afternoon following more than 12 hours of speculation.  

August 6: UK:
Air France Refuses to Fly Failed Gay Asylum Seeker to Cameroon..   Joseph Kaute, the 43-years-old gay Cameroonian who was due to be deported from the UK this morning, is back at Harmondsworh detention centre this evening, thanks to Air France, the airline that was due to fly him from Heathrowback to Yaoundé via Paris.  It was the third attempt to deport him.

August 1: Spain:
Benidorm Gets Green Light for Its First Gay Pride Extravaganza.   Benidorm, one of Spain’s, and Europe’s, top gay destinations,  is to host its first Gay Pride in October.  Organised by the Benidorm City Council and the Benidorm Gay Business Association (BGBA), it is scheduled to take place from October 21 - October 23 with the slogan “Fun in the Sun”.
