The “bigoted and factually incorrect” stance taken by government health
officials in Dhangadi, Nepal, this month has been criticised by the Elton
John AIDS Foundation.

IGLHRC speak out on second anniversary of execution of two teenagers.
Despite a widely publicized outcry two years ago when Iranian authorities
executed two young men in the northeastern city of Mashhed, the government
continues to target, arrest, prosecute, and execute individuals under its
sodomy law.

been launched.

Government Health Official Tells Gay Group Working on
HIV Issues to “Find Something Better To Do”. Nepal’s Blue Diamond Society (BDS) was
told today to stop its ‘Care Support’ sexual health outreach programme in
Dhangadi and “to look for something better to do”. This is causing
further grave concern over the level of homophobia that exists amongst the
Government officials and NGO workers in Nepal, BDS says.

Police in Kathmandu today stand accused of assault on ‘Métis’ (transgender
people) in Ratna Park last night after it was discovered that the métis were
carrying condoms.

of Accor, Novotel Hotels Lifted Following Apology in Thailand.
The boycott of Novotel and other hotels in the French-owned Accor group has
been lifted following an agreement between the Novotel, Siam Square,
Bangkok, and Khun Suttirat Simsiriwong who was barred from entering the
hotel’s Concept CM2 bar two weeks ago.

It was the most the most awe-inspiring moment of my
life! Those were the words of Rosanna Flamer-Caldera when she returned
to Sri Lanka after a trip to Canada where she was International Grand
Marshal of Toronto Gay Pride last month.

Survey
Finds Shocking Ignorance of HIV in UK. People are still
alarmingly ignorant about HIV, finds a survey published today by Terrence
Higgins Trust (THT) to mark the 25th anniversary of Terry Higgins’
death with what was then Gay-Related Immune Deficiency (now Aids) in St.
Thomas’ Hospital, London, in 1982.

Joins With Others to Protect Rights in Moldova. GenderDoc-M,
the gay and lesbian NGO in Moldova, has joined forces with other
organisations for form an Antidiscrimination Consortium to protect the human
rights of minorities.

Station Wins Third Prestigious Award. GaydarRadio was yesterday
(July 2) crowned Commercial Radio Digital Station of the Year at the Arqiva
Commercial Radio Awards 2007.
