Steelers Strip, If Price Is Right!
Whatever the French can do, the Brits can do better. That has been the philosophy for hundreds of years on the north side of, err, La Manche.
So when the French national rugby union team bared all, in the interests of the now-legendary calendar, the players of the Kings Cross Steelers club in London came up with a dastardly scheme that will put the French superstars to shame.
Yes, the Steelers have volunteered to bare all - and live in a London night club.
But the price has to be right.
"Fundraising has never looked this good," commented Alison Livinstone-Whitton, the press officer for the Bingham Cup, the international cup competition for gay rugby clubs.
The Steelers' Strip is a fundraiser to help the Bingham Cup. The more money put in the bucket, the more kit the lads will remove.
"All money raised will be donated to the Bingham Cup, which will ensure that players from all over the world can compete for amateur rugby's largest prize," said Livinstone-Whitton.
She added that this would be the final fundraiser - the Bingham Cup gets underway at Esher Rugby Club on Saturday May 29.
The Steers' Strip is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday May 21) at Growlhouse, the regular Friday night "club" at Fire in South Lambeth Road, Vauxhall.
